Akyaka - Gokova

Image
A goose taking a load off in the fresh water stream that runs into Gokova bay. Restaurants line the river where you can enjoy fresh fish meals and traditional Turkish cuisine sitting next to the river, rushing past your feet. Akyaka is situated at the mouth of the river which is popular with the Turks with few foreigners. The sand runs from the beach out into the sea for hundreds of metres which is great for family fun. Over the other side of the bay, kite surfing is the sport of choice as the shallow water and steady wind make a perfect combination.

How small

Image
Tortoises are indigenous to Turkey and they can been seen often when on a picnic or walking off road. This is by far the smallest I have seen.

Taken while inside pool

Image
I thought taking a panoramic while inside a pool would give a different feel to the photo. These photos can be used in advertising as long as our name is mentioned somewhere.

Place to go - Miletos

Image
About one and a half hours from Milas. Drive on the Izmir road, past the Didim turn off and it is sign posted to the left. The biggest Amphitheatre I have seen. Very good condition. Surrounded by other ruins, but it us not a huge site. A little restaurant and gift shop is situated in the grounds. Worth seeing Didim, Miletos and Priena in one day if you have the energy. We thought a day out to Miletos was enough.

Hotter and hotter

Image
Yep, that's 28deg at midnight. This is when guests have the air conditioning turned on day and night.

Panoramic of Mandalya Bay

Two HDR photos taken on the iphone and stitch together to produce a panoramic.

Temperatures increase

Image
It is 01:30 and the temperature is 25deg C. This is were the air conditioning is used a lot, mainly day and night. Temperatures are knocking on 40 deg during the day. Sea and pool temperatures are getting warmed up nicely. It will be interesting what temperatures August brings.

Riding Padock

Image
One of the many activities available in Turkey. This is David Ali on Limon. This is an extremely clean and well presented riding centre and hotel at Ataköy about 1.25 hours from Milas towards Dalaman called Padock. There is another option near Turgutreis on the Bodrum peninsular. A full description is available at our other blog.

Panoramic of Tuzla lake

Image
Not sure how this is going to come out on the blog. This was taken from the Lotus block which has a great view I am sure you will agree. I am planning to use a new program that can stitch HDR shots together so the photo will be a lot mire colour enhanced.
